Matt Kinnie - Para Cycling
Matt Kinnie turned to Para sports after a rock climbing accident left him paralyzed from the chest down in 2005. At the time, Matt was studying engineering at the University of New Brunswick. He completed his engineering degree in 2007. Since his accident, Matt has competed in Wheelchair Rugby and Para Cycling. He has developed into Canada’s top racer in the H2 handcycling category. Matt has a great passion for Para sports and is the president of Parasport New Brunswick.
Matt is a multiple gold medalist in the time trial and road race at the Canadian championships. He also won gold at the ParaPan Am Games in Lima, Peru in August 2019.
