Maddog Memorial
To forever embrace the Hal ‘Maddog’ Merrill legacy.
The Maddog Memorial Tournament is an annual wheelchair rugby tournament hosted by Parasport NB in memory of the late Hal Merrill.

Hal Merrill was a three-time Paralympian, a trailblazer in parasport, and an amazing mentor to so many.
Hal was a pioneer for wheelchair rugby in Atlantic Canada. He was the best teammate, a fierce competitor, a coach, and a compassionate friend to everyone who played or volunteered. Throughout his athletic career, he was extremely active in para athletics, wheelchair basketball, and wheelchair rugby communities.

His legacy will live on, not just in this competition, but in the lives he changed, the barriers he broke, and the inspiration he provided.
Hal was more than an athlete. He was a leader, a mentor, and a friend. His impact will continue to be felt on and off the court for years to come.
Hal, you are truly missed, but your legacy lives on.
