Call for Coaches

2025-2026 Team New Brunswick

Wheelchair Basketball Call for coaching staff 

Parasport NB is currently seeking four (4) individuals to fill the following positions for the upcoming season: Team NB Head Coach, Team NB Assistant Coach, Team NB Manager and P506 Elite Coach.  

Team NB

• Both genders must be represented on the team staff bench

Coach Qualifications 

• The Coach and assistant-coach must be Certified Wheelchair Basketball Coaches (Comp-Advanced) or on the pathway to this certification.

• Successful candidates must have a demonstrated track record of working in a team environment  

• Coach and Assistant-coach must be 19 years of age or older 

• Provide a Criminal Record check with vulnerable sector check.  

• Candidates should be prepared to participate in a selection process interview 

Manager Qualifications

• Manager must be 19 years of age or older

• Provide a Criminal Record check with vulnerable sector check.

Coaching staff Responsibilities  

• Staff will be responsible for identifying an athlete pool and establishing, implementing and maintaining individual athlete training plans that will enable athletes to develop and peak for performance at the 2026 Junior Nationals

• Host training camps

• Participate in other relevant competitions including Junior Nationals

• The Coaching staff along with Parasport NB will liaise with CSI-A to access available athletes training resources  

• The selected coaching staff will be responsible for contributing to the Selection Criteria and communicating the criteria to eligible athletes.  

• The coaching staff along with Parasport NB will be responsible for fundraising and managing the team budget 

P506 Elite 

Coach qualifications and responsibilities

• The coach must be Comp-Advanced certified or on the pathway to certification

• Successful candidates must have a demonstrated track record of working in a team environment 

• Provide a Criminal Record check with vulnerable sector check.  

• Run 3 P506 Elite Training Camps

• Work with CSI-A for additional training resources 

• Coach at the Canadian Wheelchair Basketball League Finals
